Guidelines for Nomination and Selection of Candidates
To be considered for the award an individual should meet the following criteria:
- • Be distinguished in the medical profession through his/her activities and accomplishments and received previous recognition from peers.
- • Be a person of such integrity, statue and demonstrated ability that faculty, students and alumni will take pride in and be inspired by this recognition.
- • Have contributed to his/her community through civic, community or church service.
- • Have made contributions to medical education through teaching, research, preceptorship and/or publications.
- • Be an individual who demonstrates pride in The University of Texas Medical Branch and whose loyalty and interest are evident.
- • Recognizing that few, if any, persons will excel in all areas of these guidelines, the extent and results of their accomplishments in any one or more areas may be enough to recognize them with the award.
The award shall be restricted to a maximum of four annually.
